Alabama Veteran's Memorial Park

April 25, 2009. Nicholas' Tiger Cub Scout den went to the Alabama Veteran's Memorial Park here in Mountain Brook. It was very surreal to see how many names were etched in stone that had died in battle. It really reminds you of what so many people have gone through just to help provide and protect our freedom here in America.

Nicholas' Soccer and Baseball

We started off our game filled week-end with Nicholas playing soccer Friday night, then again on Saturday morning followed by a baseball game. Nicholas did great in his soccer games and the baseball game kept me on the edge of my seat! In the fourth inning, we caught up to tie the game. Then in the fifth inning, the other team scored five runs, then we came back and scored five runs - with 6 minutes left in the game, we went an extra inning. The other team scored five runs, and then we came back to score five as well - finally ended at 17-17. The White Sox did so awesome.

Kaylee's PK Field Trip

April 24, 2009. Kaylee's Preschool went on a field trip to Old Baker Farm. Kaylee got to pet some baby animals, shuck some corn, feed the farm animals, eat lunch in a barn, ride

a tire horse swing, plant some sunflower seeds to take home, and ride on a hayride. We had a great time together.

Kaylee's Swim Lessons

Kaylee has been taking swim lessons with some of her friends at the YMCA since the winter. The Y has a big bubble that goes over the pool for the colder months and then they take it off in the warmer months. Now that warmer days are here to stay, Kaylee has been swimming outside in the hot sunshine! She is really doing good.

BWF's Booster Bash 4.17.09

Brookwood Forest Elementary had their annual school fund raiser, Booster Bash. The kids LOVE this! It is a big funfest - full of sugar, games, sugar, rides, sugar, rock climbing wall, oh, and SUGAR! By sugar, I mean candy, cokes, snow cones, cookies, and ice cream. The kids got their hair spray painted, fake wounds bandaged up, face painted, and much more!

Soccer Ball Boy

Clayton's soccer team was invited to be ball boys for the Mountain Brook High School's Soccer game this past Thursday evening. The team gave them shirts that said "Future MBHS Soccer Player" and then taught them what to do. Clayton was very busy chasing balls and throwing them back in to the players. He thought that was super cool!

Clayton's New Clubs

Clayton got some new clubs! We ordered some really nice Ping clubs online and he checked the front door everyday for them! This summer he will be entering some local golf tournaments for the first time, so we are helping to prepare him.

Sleeping Beauty

Kaylee was so precious...one day she was watching TV in her favorite chair, which happens to be Izzie's favorite chair, too, and they both fell asleep - very sweet!

My Cubs - Clayton and Nicholas

Nicholas is a Tiger cub in the Cub Scouts and got to help with color guard for our April meeting.

Me and another Mom are Den Leaders for the Bear Cubs that Clayton is in and we had a party for them celebrating our last den meeting together - next is the Blue and Gold Banquet where they cross over into the next level.

McDonald Easter Dinner and Egg Hunt

On the evening of Easter, we invited over some good friends to have Easter dinner and to let the kids hunt for eggs in the backyard. This year, my parents were in town, and we invited over the King's, the Fooshee's, and the Taylor's. We had a great time together and the kids found lots of eggs! Praise the Lord for wonderful friends we act as family while we are far from real family!

April 12, 2009. Clayton and Nicholas sang in the early service Easter morning to help celebrate our risen Lord. My parents got to be there to see them. The boys sang really well!

April 11, 2009. Clayton was invited to a BMX birthday party at Oak Mountain State Park. This was really cool and Clayton loved it! He rode that track over and over. After an hour and a half, I had to force him off and he keeps asking when he can go back again. He also wants to have his birthday party there, so we'll see.

We finally decided on Izzie's full name...Izzie Anna Bones (just like Indiana Jones), very clever! She is growing so big. We took her to see the vet 3 weeks ago and she was 11 pounds, two weeks later, she was 16 pounds. The kids adore her and she loves her new home and thinks the backyard is the best thing ever! We just got the rest of the yard fenced in, so now she is able to stay out even longer. She is a precious little boxer!

Kaylee the Butterfly Fairy

April 8, 2009. Kaylee got all dressed up in her pink butterfly fairy stuff...fluffy tutu, glitter wings, magical wand, and head band. She was adorable. She fluttered all around the backyard waving that wand left and right.
