Papa Mac came in from New York City, NY to spend a few days with us. We took him to eat at all our local favorites including the famous Irondale Cafe (home of the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes). We saw a local performance of the Nutcracker, where the kids of some friends of ours played some parts (Abbey and Jackson Macklin). Then we took him to the most visited place in Birmingham - Vulcan Park - to see the well known Vulcan statue. Atop of the Vulcan, you can see all of Birmingham. There is a museum inside the park that walks you throughout the history of Birmingham as well. The kids had so much fun with Papa Mac, especially when he agreed to play endless hours of football with them in the backyard! We will miss you Papa Mac.
