Disney on Ice ~ November 4, 2009

My friend, Gayle, and I took our girls to go see Disney on Ice while they were here in Birmingham, AL. It was a journey through 100 years of all the Disney Magic. The girls loved getting a princess snocone, a princess cotton candy, and a princess light that swirled around in the dark! Gayle and I enjoyed it too.

Clayton's 4th grade Field Trip to Montgomery, AL

We visited "Old Alabama Town" an area dedicated to teaching about things were done long ago.

This was an old schoolhouse that taught K-12 all in the same building.

An old "shotgun"house - they say if you stand at the front door and shoot a shotgun towards the back of the house - the bullet would go straight through.

Although you can not see the detail in this small photo - the ceiling was amazing! Very detailed and intricate with molding. This is the dining room in the mansion.

Some of the fourth graders in front of the State Capitol Building in Montgomery, AL. The shadow was over them, so the picture was darker than I would like.

An amazing architectural marvel! This stair case was designed over 100 years ago by a former slave working on the capitol at the time.

The Fourth graders took a day trip to Montgomery, AL to give them first hand experience with the state's history. I was able to be a chaperon and loved getting to learn all about Alabama with Clayton! 2009

Old Baker Farm with Kaylee 10-19-09

I forgot to post this one sooner! When Mom and Grandma were in town last week, we went with Kaylee and her preschool to Old Baker Farm for a field trip. We saw lots of farm animals, took a hayride out to a real pumpkin patch (and we each got to pick out a pumpkin), and ate lunch in a hay loft. We had a really good time - and my allergies have been killing me ever since!!

Happy Birthday Kevin! 10-24-09

After working on the house projects all day, we took Kevin out for dinner (he picked Full Moon) and then presented him with a surprise birthday cake from Dairy Queen. We got him a cake that had a beach seen on the top complete with palm trees and a beach chair - so cute - and perfect for our Florida move that is soon to come! Happy birthday Kevin - we love you!

Well, since we found out we are moving to Tampa, Florida, we had to hurry and finish a few last lingering projects around the house to be able to put it on the market. The local handymen are VERY expensive here so my sweet Dad drove up right away - Papa to the rescue! He showed Clayton how to use the saw to cut boards to replace the water damaged ones on our carport. Clayton is just like him - he loves to build!

Kaylee wanted to have her best girl friends over for a make up/dress up party! It was fun! We bought lots of make up, mirrors, hair glitter, body glitter, nail polish, and so much more...the girl's just jumped right in and went to work making themselves even more beautiful than they already were...and a lot more sparkly!! After the girls were all made up, we pulled out the dress up clothes, tiaras, and high heels - watch out! These little princesses were ready for town! Beautiful girls! After all that fun, they each decorated their own cupcakes and then we sang to Kaylee and opened gifts. Kaylee really enjoyed the girly time with her best friends!

We painted our pumpkins this year instead of carving them! The kids picked their favorite teams and we went to work. I thought they turned out perfect!

Kaylee's Sunday Soccer 10-11-09

Kaylee is so amazing at soccer! She just gets right in there and takes that ball and scores! This game she had a little opposition from a little boy who also wanted the ball so he could score - so they took turns taking it from each other and scoring goals!
