Wednesday, December 31, 2008. We started off our New Year's Eve going to Sea life, an aquarium right next to Legoland. It is geared for kids and has a lot of hands on activities. The kids got to touch a sea snail, sea cucumber, and lots of starfish. There are several Lego themed tanks throughout with Lego divers, Lego fish, etc. This was a fun place to be.

Sunset at Torrey Pines State Beach
Tuesday, December 30, 2008. After going to the golf course, we stopped to see another beautiful sunset over the ocean. While waiting for the sun to set, we saw a magnificent fog rolling in. It was a thick, huge cloud just hovering over the ocean for miles and permeating into the land and mountains. That was the most wicked thing I have ever seen. As it moved over the water, everything just seemed to disappear into it. Hope you can see what I mean while looking at a small photo.
USS Midway
Tuesday, December 30, 2008. We toured the USS Midway air craft carrier in San Diego today. This ship is just over 4 acres - HUGE! I was truly amazed by the sheer size of this ship - A must see! The kids were wild with excitement to see the big ship, so many jets, torpedoes, bombs ... all that boy stuff. It was neat to learn how an aircraft carrier operates and what all goes into making a mission successful.
San Diego Zoo
Monday, December 29, 2008. The San Diego Zoo was so big that it took us the whole day to get around most of it. It was cool to see the polar bears, hippos, giraffes, monkeys, snakes, elephants, and much more! Kaylee's favorite was getting to see the elephants and my favorite was riding the Sky Safari - it takes you in the air by cables and all the way across the Zoo for an ariel view.
Legoland - Day 1
Sunday, December 28, 2008. Legoland is amazing and awesome!! It seems that everything is made of Legos! There was a 30 foot Christmas tree complete with ornaments and lights made of Legos, a Chewbacca made of Legos, Indiana Jones made of Legos, Santa in a sled pulled by reindeer - YES, made of Legos! There is a section of Legoland called Miniland, USA and it is full of different lands made completely out of Legos and mini in size- such as, New York, Las Vegas, Daytona Speedway, New Orleans, Washington DC, etc. We rode a lot of cool rides, too, and saw a 4D short movie called Lego Racers. Also, the kids got to build their own Lego race car and race it on a track. I am sure I left out a lot, so just know - Day One - WE LOVE LEGOLAND!

Torrey Pines Golf Course in California
Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Kevin was in golf heaven here at Torrey Pines Golf Course in California. This is the course where Tiger Woods grew up playing and the course tournament he last won before having his knee surgery. It is right on the ocean and is simply beautiful. Glad you got to come here Kevin :)
