Visiting the Great Grannies

Bert and I loaded up the kids and spent half the day visiting all the Great Grannies at the homes where they now live. We first stopped by to visit Granny Maxine. She was looking good but was so lonely in there. I felt so bad for her. She is more of a people person and loves to be around others, but there are not many friends for her in her new home. She was so thrilled to see us! Then we went and saw Granny Lilly. She was in a great mood and loved having us there to visit. I was mostly excited that everyone still knew who we were!

Dunlop Family Christmas

After Grandma and Papa's we went over to Aunt Kathryn's and Uncle David's to celebrate Christmas. Great Grandma Jean was there too. The kids thought their new pet duck was so cool! It took Kaylee a little bit of courage to pet it, but the duck is very tame. Dec. 28, 2009.

After T Bone Tom's, we went back to Grandma and Papa's house to celebrate Christmas with them. The kids got some really fun gifts!

December 27, 2009. We met the Smith family out at El Torro for a Christmas celebration - it is one of the few places big enough to hold us all! It was fun as usual!

Houston Transco Tower Water Wall ~ December 27, 2009

While in Houston , TX for the Christmas, we took the kids to see the Water Wall in front of the Transco Tower. It was cold and windy, but so cool to see! They thought it was awesome.

Diapers and Desserts

December 26, 2009. My Mom and I hosted a baby shower for 3 of my best high school friends, Julie, Melinda, and Michelle. We asked everyone to bring diapers for them and we provided desserts at The Dessert Gallery in Houston, TX. It was so much fun!

Merry Christmas 2009

Christmas morning is here! We ate Jesus' birthday cake for breakfast -although the cake letters I bought only had one S, so we had a Happy Birthday Christ cake. Then we read about Jesus' birth from the Bible and opened gifts from each other. Afterwards, we started loading the car so we could begin our long drive to Texas to enjoy the holidays with the rest of our family too!

Christmas Eve 2009

We enjoyed hanging out with each other on Christmas Eve! I let the kids pick our meal and they picked Taco Night! Yum. We also made our traditional Happy Birthday Jesus cake - the kids help so they can lick the beaters and the bowl afterwards.
